Elissa Is Ready, BUT........
The big day just hit a speed bump...... Home IVs $714 a day. Daily stay in Hospital is 7 K Each day......Insurance is questioning the cost $714 for IVs or $7000 a day. Possibly this will get cleared up tomorrow. I sent my wife home and I will pull the last night at the hospital with any luck.

I hope common sense prevails .. and the home IVs come to be.

You are stuck in the middle of some outrageous political medical billing structure.
While your own child barely survives. I can't even imagine. |
Good luck with that g. I periodically have issues with insurance and my home supplies. It's been years but every now and then they question the expense and when I call they're all "oh OK". Good luck bro.

A while back I had a similar issue - I needed a Vankomyacin (sp?) drip for an infection that got into the bones in my feet. The insurance said no home nursing, stay in the hospital.
I hate hospitals and had nothing else wrong with me. I talked to my doctor and she spent a good half hour yelling at various insurance reps over the phone until they relented! Enlist the doc(s) as her advocate. Can't hurt. Best wished to your daughter and your family. |
Any updates on this? I hope common sense prevailed and she's back home already enjoying lobsters (iirc from the other thread).

If it isn't one thing, it's another...
Can you and your family not enjoy any peace? I feel for you, sorry to hear about this latest speed bump. |
