We had a similar issue at our previous house. My AC guy replaced the 8" duct piping with 10" from the vent (also increased the vent size) all the way back to the manifold/distribution box at the blower. Took about 30 minutes and maybe $50 in supplies, $50 in his labor.

This is the best fix to your problem, I was going to post 'install a larger duct" but targa beat me to it.
