2016 Sebring 12hr

Attending the 12 for the first time and will be in a 40 foot Super C motorhome. We have trackside space reserved at turn 15, does anyone have an idea about using slide outs in these spaces?

It depends.

The company that I go with every year has a 45 foot motor coach with 4 slides. They reserve two spots because otherwise, they wouldn't have room to push the slides out. We also need the room to barbecue and to park the golf carts.

The exception would be if you have an end spot, then you might be able to cheat over enough to put out the slides. if not the slides on both sides, at least the slides on one side.

Getting in and out (45 foot coach pulling a 4 door Rubicon) is always dicey. Just don't get into a hurry.

The company also has a hotel room/balcony reserved at Chateau Elan for our exclusive use. The balcony overlooks turn 7. We have had access to that room for the last five years.

I don't pay a penny for the entire weekend. All that is required is that I get myself to Tampa on the Thursday night before the race.

Listen, don't worry about it until you actually get there. If the people next to you are "real Sebring Race Fans", chances are that they will actually be "camping". Which means that they will be in tents and you can extend your slides over into their area. (Take Peace Treaty Beer).

Also, 99% of the people are super nice. If you have trouble making the turn into your spot, just get out and ask people if they would mind moving their car/truck for 2 minutes while you slide in. (and offer Peace Treaty Beer up front).

Obviously, the earlier you get there, the easier it will be to get in. Just don't get into a hurry. People can wait. Whatever you do, don't let some drunk guy guide you in or out of anywhere. Have someone from your party get out of the rig and ground guide you in. Use your cell phones.

Again, it will do no good to worry about it until you actually get there. There is also the chance that the spot next to you goes unsold or the people "no show". We have had both of the above happen to us.

Attending Sebring for the first time.........wow are you in for a treat ! I remember the first time I went it was an eye opener to say the least. It is a week long party and then some racing breaks out You will see EVERYTHING from soup to nuts. I miss going I haven't been back since I moved to GA. 6 years ago. But I will go back. Have fun and take pics........you will quickly learn where " the zoo " is and also " F Troop ".
