Making license plates...

...just took on a whole new meaning:

NY Driver Arrested for Homemade License Plate | wltx.com

 Nice try, but in what universe is that supposed to fool a LEO?

:D Too funny.

She should have made a front one too.

I work in the next town over, so I do recognize the family name, but not the woman's face (searched on her name). Sure was creative, though the execution could have been a little better!

They arrested her, if she was illegal and in California she would have been sent on her way, no foul, no fine.

I like it. I think everyone in the state should adopt the funky new style.

BeyGon 03-05-2016 07:43 PM

cardboard, not so good in that weather.

Anyone over 6 years old would know that's not going to fly. Jesus, not even the "plate" is square ...

She is in jail with a 400 dollar bail ... Really?

Darn good thing they have all of their murderers, rapists, drug dealers, armed robbers, and whatnot already in prison. Otherwise they couldn't possibly have time to deal with her, nor room to house her in their local jail.

A 3rd grade art student could have done a more believable rendition than that. It looks like she went to the time, and trouble to get the correct colors, and design on the plate, but completely failed at writing out legible letters, and numbers.

She will be right at home.

props for no spelling errors!

bob deluke 03-06-2016 01:50 PM

sweet Jesus, why do I still live in NY???

rusnak 03-06-2016 01:52 PM

They arrested her over a $400 bail? Is that even more stupid? Just impound the vehicle and have her call a ride home. NY is crazy.

sand_man 03-06-2016 02:10 PM

"officer, it's the new Simpsons commemorative edition plate..."

Craig 930 RS 03-11-2016 02:25 PM

Lol, here's a set of cardboard plates I have - but these are worth about $500

I made my own front plate for my truck. It didn't come with a plate bracket and GM wanted $80 for one. So I went to a buddy who owns a sign shop and he printed me a sticker that looks just like the back plate. Been on there for 8 years now.

I have one for the 69 911 also as it has no mounting bracket also. Never put it on yet.

I finally had to comment on this thread:

"I'm a license plate pressing mother f***er" - Richard Pryor

Been years since I'd heard this so I had to google it...if profanity or the N-word offend you don't bother (wino and the junkie). I laughed my azz off one more time....thanks Richard :D

I remember going to see RP's live concert movie late one night in the seventies with a bunch of hs buddies. Theater was packed...half white, half black and it was a hoot....hilarity ensued SmileWavy
