Heading to Niagara Falls in June
Let me get to the point. Essentially, my wife proposed to me the other night when she suggested that we take a trip to Niagara Falls and renew our wedding vows. She came up with Niagara Falls as the place due to a conversation that we had earlier in the week when I said that I had never been to Niagara Falls.
After checking our packed calendars, we determined that we can get away during the second week of June. We decided to head to the Canadian side of the falls based on recommendations of friends and mostly because I have plenty of points to get some free nights at the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa
Now, here is where I could use some help. We have been married for 38 years. So, we do not need to be legally married in Canada. And, we really don’t want one of the “vow renewal” packages being offered by the many wedding chapels and other organizations at the falls. We would like to keep it simple. What I would like is to find an officiant to perform a quick ceremony and possibly someone that could take a couple of photos for us with our cell phones.
Also, we would like this to be very casual. No need for flowers, music and the like. Does anyone know if we could have an informal ceremony at a place such as on the Journey Behind the Falls, on the White Water Walk, or possibly when on a Hornblower cruise boat?
If anyone has any ideas, I would be glad to hear them.
Thanks.
