Cited for driving with an “obstructed window”

Dammit, I hate it when this happens.

Woman Drove With Tree As Hood Ornament | The Smoking Gun

Arizona_928 03-08-2016 11:07 AM

Is that just in case the DUI charges don't stick?!

Por_sha911 03-08-2016 11:42 AM

That's a way to reach the weekly quota in one evening. Dog pile on every possible charge.

LEAKYSEALS951 03-09-2016 02:08 AM

Fight the charges in court.
The trunk only minimally obstructs driver's view. The tree's canopy is well above the driver's line of sight, and being deciduous, has no leaves at this time of year. Bogus charge.

petrolhead611 03-09-2016 03:02 AM

Is this just a Lincoln thing to have a trunk at the front?

Por_sha911 03-09-2016 06:50 AM

Actually if a LEO wants to break your brass ones, there have been convictions when a driver fought the obstructed view citation for radar detectors stuck to the window. One example:

IIRC, many moons ago some loud mouth kid got written up for an air freshener hanging from the mirror and it stuck.

What is this world coming to? What about freedom of expression? If having a tree trunk as a hood ornament makes me complete I should be allowed to live my dream!

Bill Douglas 03-09-2016 11:35 AM

I'm stumped as to why these charges are laid.

petrolhead611 03-10-2016 03:11 AM

Well you obviously need root and branch to turn over a new leaf then

petrolhead611 03-10-2016 03:11 AM

Twigged yet?

kach22i 03-10-2016 05:37 AM

The judge is going to have to sentence her to planting some trees as part of her community service otherwise it will not come full circle.

The trees cry for justice.

One of their own has been taken.

It was just a sapling, and with so much to live for.

dafischer 03-10-2016 05:40 AM

I'm sorry, but this is just bush league.

LEAKYSEALS951 03-10-2016 06:38 AM

The root of the problem is simple.
The tree was just acting instinctually.
The car was encroaching on it's habitat.
Crape myrtles used in parking lot beautification projects everywhere will have no choice to but fight back.
As time goes by, I can only see these altercations increasing in frequency.
Understanding is the first step.

#treelivesmatter!

Por_sha911 03-10-2016 02:46 PM

What are you all barking about?

LEAKYSEALS951 03-10-2016 03:07 PM

We'll see what transpires.

john70t 03-10-2016 03:09 PM

Symbols, angels, warriors, women, birds.
All have been used as hood ornaments.

Manufacturers need to make a bold statement and firmly plant their roots in the marketplace.
"Sorry officer. This was on the car when I bought it."

scottmandue 03-10-2016 03:37 PM

Maybe she is a huge Groot groupie?
