Chumlee busted!

Chumlee from 'Pawn Stars' Arrested During Sexual Assault Raid | TMZ.com

Chumlee from "Pawn Stars" has been arrested for guns and drugs after police raided his home while investigating an alleged sexual assault ... TMZ has learned.
Las Vegas Metro PD says officers showed up at his home Wednesday afternoon with a search warrant in connection with a sexual assault case. We're told Chumlee is the suspect in that case.
Our law enforcement sources tell us cops found marijuana, meth and at least one weapon during the search.
Chumlee was taken into custody and booked for drug and weapon possession. We're told the sexual assault is still under investigation.

The weapon charge may amount to nothing. Many states have laws that make it unlawful to be in possession of a firearm and illicit drugs. (In other words, it may well be legally owned.)

I agree, Nevada cops like to pile stuff on. DUI with a legal weapon and CCW confiscation is also typical.

A local giggle is we have a pawn store called Chumleighs, small 6 store outfit, their name was long before the show Pawn Stars.
I would bet the TV show has given this local pawn shop a bit of free publicity through word association.

Chumleighs

I am shocked, I tell you SHOCKED! that someone with the intelligence, grace and dignity would get caught up in something like this. We're talking about Chumlee here. So sad. :(

I never thought of him as a thug at all. He's always been the bumbling foil, unless something's changed in the last year or two since I last watched the show.

I agree, a fine young man. Must be a mistake.

For such a liberal State, their pot laws are draconian. You can be busted for dui if they test your blood and find minuscule THC levels.

Unfortunate bit of news re the Meth.

One of the reasons he and Corey were working at the Pawn Shop was they both had serious substance abuse issues as teens / young adults and the job was one of the things that was part of their return to sobriety.

"with a search warrant in connection with a sexual assault case"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but search warrants specify what the search is looking for, and police cannot act like they saw anything else? Different state?

Meth must have a magical pull, and allure that I have never experienced in my life, somehow I have tried different things but never got roped into addiction.

I don't know if someone like him just has a weak mind, or is too open to suggestion, but part of curing yourself, and coming clean is to admit you have a problem.

If it's out in the open or something other than what they are looking for is found in a place that the warrant covers then it's legit.

Correct, if they're looking for a gun used in the assault, and the meth is in a place big enough for a gun, its ok.

Same here... always saw him as 'comic relief'... not sure if it is true (I saw it on the internet!) but I heard he gets paid more than anyone else on the show.

He does seem to know his stuff when it comes to his generational stuff (video games, tennis shoes, etc.).

Sad about the drugs... I suppose when you get rich and famous it is easy for your old demons to come back and haunt you (fortunately I am not cursed with being rich or famous).

Perhaps he was holding the drugs for a friend?

And +1 surprised NV is not cashing in on Mary Jane.

onewhippedpuppy 03-10-2016 10:26 AM

SHOCKED! He seemed like such a nice upstanding guy.

Tobra 03-10-2016 10:39 AM

I would have been more surprised he was not smoking dope, in my limited exposure to that program

No, once they are in there, if they see something else, they snatch it up and charge.

They have gambling and prostitution to tax.
