Super interesting!

Thank you for posting that.
About 15 years ago, Pete Brick was convinced by Superformance to revisit the Cobra Coupe. Since the coupe was based directly on the roadster, Shelby didn't want to do anything about the crude AC frames, so Brock was stuck using what he had. When he signed onto the Superformance project, he redid the frame and suspension with another old Cobra guy and lengthened it out a bit. I still have the issue of Sports Car International which featured the car and had the interview with Brock. What a career that guy had! Best Les |
I really respect Pete Brock, and love listening to him tell stories. I would so much like to build a FFR Daytona coupe.
|
I built one. Here's a pic. Wish I still owned it.

Got to meet him at Superformance HQ about 10 years ago when buying my GT40...nice down to earth guy. That coupe would be a nice traveling machine.

Though you all would enjoy that. The emotion he displays towards the end speaks volumes. http://wallpapers-diq.org/wallpapers...Coupe_2009.jpg |
Thanks for posting - great video - very touching.
Octane magazine featured the Shelby America Daytona Continuum Coupe in its January issue. What a fascinating machine. |
Fantastic story, gorgeous car.

Great video! Pretty touching seeing him get emotional about his old mentors.
[rant] Sure wish he would stop crossing the lines when he drives! [/rant] |
a buddy who was the shelby shop boy gofer at the time
claims the idea [copy the redguy's goat fastback] was his idea not the design just the fastback idea |
AND to think, back in 1965, Shelby had all those Cobra coupe's, the original one's, for sale, on a flat bed, for $4000.00 dollars each, you pick. They were just "old" race cars that nobody could use". God, send me back in time.
