Surprised me a little.
I figured we would count all the munitions we drop as foreign aid and other countries would rank higher.

Do you realize three things:

1) The amount of foreign aid given by the US every year is less than one tenth of one percent of its budget.

2) The return on investment in the foreign aid extended to other countries is orders of magnitude greater than military or other aid and has been more effective in achieving the country's diplomatic military objectives than any other effort, including military? And

3) There is an entire section of PPBBS called the Politics and Religion Forum on which this thread should have been posted.

Now imagine how much money the federal government funnels into U.S. multi-national corporations. You know, your tax dollars and my tax dollars. You would grow faint and drop to the floor if you knew how much money our corporations are given every day, no strings attached.

Foreign aid is basically bribe money that allows our corporate interests to get in there and do business.
