Making an old dog bark.........
I picked up an 1892 Marlin chambered for the 32 Long Colt cartridge recently. Most of you will recognize that the 32 Long Colt has been obsolete since about 1930 and the boxes of cartridges that are still around bring huge prices. So, I decided to roll my own as the saying goes. Turns out that the rim on the 32 S&W Long is the same diameter as the 32 Colt and the body is only .017" (seventeen thousandths) bigger. So, I whipped up a trimming die, cut off some of the S&W cases and will run them thru a sizing die when it gets here! I am going to use the heeled bullet (like a 22 rf) so the cases are cut to .767" long. This bad boy will be an 80 gr bullet at about 900 fps!
