Vinyl Wrapping a Dog's Wheelchair.

Hi guys,

My foster dog Tundra has a set of wheels that are camo colored and it's getting pretty beat up and just because he fancies himself a great hunter of small prey- one mouse is not a great hunter, I want to wrap the chair in some carbon fiber look vinyl.

Local shop nicely gave me some off cuts and a few tips. I'm hoping to get a few questions answered by folks who have done wrap before.

This will be all tubes, so do I overlap and then slice through both pieces to get a seam?

Here's the project (yea, it really needs some Fuchs too)

Yes on seam, but I wouldn't bother cutting through both layers, just the top, so it doesn't open up.

Why take it apart it and spray paint it the frame?

Guys,

Thanks for the ideas, but wrap it is as it is right here and free!

Did the first strut and it came out pretty good- adjuster holes were tough to get good, but are mostly hidden.

Awesome. there's a lady that lives very near me that has a dog with a cart. I think in the past 2-3 months I saw her and the dog for the first time. Just before that she had a sling and could carry him like a suitcase. He is getting around pretty well now. Good on you for taking this pup in.

Thanks Steve,

He's a super cool and smart dog- couldn't care less about his paralysis, moves around very fast even without his cart, with the cart he's able to move just about the same as a regular dog.

Thought it would be cool and classy to decorate the wheelchair- had a few ideas like printing circuit boards or gears on a wrap, so asked at the local wrap shop and the lady said I could have the carbon fiber for free, so I figured it was a good start.

Well, finally got around to finishing his wheelchair; vinyl wrap took a bit of work because of the corners.

I also put a set of pneumatic wheels on for him- old ones were foam and would wear down pretty quick since we go 3-5 miles a day.

Before the carbon fiber wrap:
