i'm liking my home move more and more.
i moved to Sonoma Wine country. it was easy transferring my work to a different office. my new supervisor is excellent. nice, just like my last one.
my wife is now working. ..(HORRAY!). living in an apartment blows. but i am strangely adapting. even my wife got used to my bikes being everywhere..i have one in the kitchen, leaned up against my gun safe. :) we dont even own a couch. it reminds me of my college days. but now i have money. there is fantastic beer in the area. i sometimes push my bike to Russian river brewery on the ride home and have a pint. no need for a bike lock, since i have my bike leaned up against the bench i'm sitting on with other cyclist. then i ride home and make dinner. i figured out the best way to get to and from work. 50% trail ride. very little road riding. i even showed it to my wife. she is half the distance and she rode it easy yesterday. my 2.5 hours one-way commute is a distant memory in my mind. gone..erased. traffic jams can suck it. suck it hard. today, it was icing. i rode my mtn bike to Annadel state park. 33 miles of singletrack. and bikes are allowed!! joggers, horses, bikes all getting along. it was like i was warped into a different dimension or world. people being nice to each other on trails!!! i climbed a tough hill. trail was named GO ROUGH trail. it was ugly. i posted up before that i hate change. almost scared of change. this is that moment that i feel stupid for fighting the move. :) i havent even done the wine ride yet. :D |
..still house shopping. i'm not rushing it. eff it..i'll find one. may as well find a good one..a great one. i aint moving.
i hate change. :D |
Pleased it worked out well. It sounds fun being in the wine country AND being able to bike to work (plus stop for a beer).

There's a common element at play here...
1) You're embracing change you don't generally like. 2) You're noticing when people are pleasant on the bike paths. 3) You've had not one, but TWO excellent supervisors. I'm accusing you of having a good attitude. Now stop it, Cliff! |
thats funnny
Well done vash, every once in a while it works out. Enjoy it. |
Sounds like you've got the best of all worlds. Hang in there & enjoy life. You deserve it. Maybe this experience will encourage you to seek more positive changes.
