Maserati replica

Anyone ever see or drive one of these? Supposedly was built in England. Has a 1.6L Audi engine. It is a copy of the 1956 Maserati Race Car Replica. A6QCS. JVA Monofaro. Looks like it would be great fun!

Actually that does look rather like a Maserati Grand prix car.
Fangio won a championship with a similar looking car.

Sorry,

The car Fangio drove in '53 was this one.

The car pictured above is perhaps modeled after the two seat cars with either full fenders or cycle fenders which were allowed to race to fill in the fields.

There were a handful of A6CGSes with open-wheel, cycle-fender bodies. Here is one of them:

I'd say the replica above is modeled after it.

Whoever built this, nice as it may look, had no soul. An Audi engine, really? Should have used an Alfa engine.

A closer fit would have been a Fiat twincam engine as it has lineage via OSCA

audi fiat and alfa all are 4 bangers
the A6 was a strait 6
Maserati L6's are rare but the v6 from a bi-turbo at least
has the right name on it and few would cry to see a bi-turbo cut up

trying hard to think of another lite L6 with good power in a 1.5 to 2.0
the only ones that come to mind are jap in a toyota or skyline
