Heading out for a test run

My friend with his pilot boat, 40ft, Cummings diesel, pretty nice rig. I got to steer
while he checked a few things. Managed not to hit anything. Always a plus when on the water.

Built in Baie Ste Ann, if you were ever into boxing, that's the stompin' grounds of Yvon Durell, One tough SOB. Nearly took the heavyweight title from Archie Moore back in the '50's.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1460396339.jpg

The Capt of this boat is the harbour pilot for our port. He boards the freighters, cargo ships, and such and is on the bridge to escort the ships to berth at our pier.

This little boat, is how he gets to and from those ships who anchor at the outside pilot station where he gets on and off.

Cool. We have pilot boats to get Great Lakes captains to guide ships down the St. Clair River. They deliver mail to the lake freighters as well. YouTube has some cool videos on this.

Pretty much although some ships have metal ladders they can extend down to them.
