With 3400 lbs of thrust, it's a good thing that comes mounted on a 4-wheel trailer with eletric brakes! Phew!

Surprised Algore didn't bid on it for a leaf blower.

island911 04-23-2016 10:13 AM

That's pretty cool. Though wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a tanker watering truck... fill it with kerosene, lay a swath of fuel down the track and then light it on fire?

LOL! :D Yeah, he wouldn't want leaves laying around at a Gore CO2 tax speech. Those menacing decaying leaves produce CO2 without paying the proper CO2 pollutant sin tax. ...that evil nature; putting more than 20x CO2 of man into the atmosphere every year, and not paying a single politician anywhere. ;)

Runs on regular gasoline.
Typical consumption 150-180 GPH

Can we buy it and gift it to Bernie E?

That's a really old (mid 40's) and not very powerful engine.

Operational right after WWII.

Westinghouse J-34.

Was obsolete before it was even in service.

Navy Banshee used 2 of them.

Neptune (with 2 radial piston engines) used 2 of them for 'helper' engines.

Don't know of any others offhand.

And again, I learn something new every day here on Pelican.
Thank you.
