Graduation Gift For A 46 Year Old Friend
We recently got a College Graduation Invite from a friend that is 47 years old that we have known for about 2 years. Most of these things happened 25 years ago.

Nice bottle of booze. At that age, while still proud of their accomplishment, I'm sure they aren't expecting gifts. But I don't know much about anything really.

Who sends those invites out, high school, college, etc? I always viewed them as looking for freebies.

I dont think a gift is expected for a 47 YO graduate, but a bottle of booze would be nice and minimize chances for awkwardness if others do/dont bring gifts.

I'm guessing "the gift" idea is your wife's?
Don't get me wrong, I think it is great for someone to finish their degree later in life. I, for one went back to school in my 30's and changed careers. However I never associated graduation from college as a required gift event (not like going to a wedding)
