Nascar at Talledega

Today, it was the biggest crash fest I have ever seen. Hate to admit it, but it was quite entertaining.

It looked like rain, for most of the race, so they all wanted to get to the front and stay there. Take no prisoners kind of racing.

The lead car usually does avoid the big one, right? When it comes to racing, never bet against a Penske car...

It was really something to see the steering come off in Earnhardts car. He was lucky to get that back on without crashing.

Great race!! Going to Dover in a couple weeks, 7th year in a row. Ty Dillon was the most impressive getting into Fat Tony's car and getting him a 6th place.

It was tense. Rain threat certainly made most of the race "go time". Many saves per lap visible to the tv veiwer.

Seriously impressed with the safety of the cars.

Dale took the blame for rushing and missing the steering wheel lock. It one of the few things "owned" by the driver. Apparently you can't just push it on without releasing the lock.

Such a contrast to the high speed parade laps in F1 earlier in the day.

Just saw the end. couldnt beleive it. Guy in second spins out the guy in first and drops back everybody passes him and he still wins the race. Im surprized he didnt get pelted with beer cans. Obviously nobody really gives a **** they just want to see crashes and he caused a good one.

That was the infinity race. I don't think Sadler spun Logano. Rather Logano got dirty air or something and got loose and wrecked himself. I don't think Sadler "dropped back" as much as almost wrecked. I though Poole won and turned it off. They awarded the win to Sadler who was in the lead when the yellow came out. I didn't see that part as I had turned it off. I'm a Sadler fan but not sure I agree with that call.

The xfinity race finish was a mixed bag. They were so close to the finish I wish it had played out with Poole getting the credit.

However logono got hit really hard. Safety crew have to react quickly. Even though they did wait a bit, it was going down hill fast. Had to throw the caution to reduce chance of drivers in the rear racing through the wreck for points.

Tough call all around.

If you want to see how a young professional responds to such a disappointment, listen to Poole's post-race interview. CLASS ACT. Kid will do well

Joey cut hard right, when he went to go left again, the back of his car kept going to the right. He committed too hard to block high, and the back end just kept going up the track.

I was expecting Sadler to do something wrong there, but with Joey, he didn't.

Now he *did* come flying back up onto the track at low speed which wasn't that great of an idea.
