AirCooledExcellence 12-18-2002 09:22 AM

Hi Dickster,

No problems with me!

As you quote at the bottom of all your posts "you're unique, just like everyone else";)

Cheers,

I've got the exact same problem - thought I did something like unsubscribe? Used to be able to go back and viw all my old threads. WHAT HAPPENED?

Even threads that I've posted do not show up anymore?

dickster 12-18-2002 01:53 PM

hey tim, i'm alright jack!;)

seriously, still no go - wayne??

juanbenae 12-18-2002 03:35 PM

ACE, i have missed your floundering bee like deal as of late. that thing like clowns scares the S out of me.

dickster 12-19-2002 01:28 AM

*bump*

ok, getting paranoid now:(

nick-moss 12-19-2002 01:32 AM

Hi dickster

I've never had this problem, maybe it's caused by your IE setup?

dickster 12-19-2002 01:55 AM

it was ok before, and i haven't made any changes.

i have checked out my profile etc, there doesn't seem to be a facility to disable?

nick-moss 12-19-2002 01:59 AM

Have you tried "refreshing" the screen?

dickster 12-19-2002 03:26 AM

yeah, no luck.

i can only see threads with "new" posts. nothing from yesterday now.

:(

RazorRacer 12-19-2002 03:29 AM

dickster 12-19-2002 03:33 AM

There are some drop downs at the bottom of the forum page, have you changed any of those by mistake?

sorted by: thread title, last post time, number of replie,s number of views, thread starter
rating in: ascending, descending order,
from: last day, last 2 days, last 5 days, last 10 days etc

dickster 12-19-2002 04:41 AM

nick

well done, we're on to something - i don't have those drop downs anymore!!

Dave Ploss 12-19-2002 04:47 AM

Count me in! I don't have any of my threads either.

Dave

vesnyder 12-19-2002 04:50 AM

Same issue here - no more drop downs. I used to be able to go back and review all my old threads. Was there a purge? Sounds like it may have been selective?

NapTownSpeedy 12-19-2002 07:24 AM

Same boat.
Wassup Wayne?

ccandgc 12-19-2002 09:12 AM

:(

me too. I could see all my old posts before, now I have to do a search with my user name to see my posts....

rs911t 12-19-2002 10:25 AM

I have the same problem. Do you use the forum from multiple machines, e.g. work and home? I've been wonder if that's related to the problem. It's clearly a state management issue (works for some, doesn't for others).

Wayne, maybe a cookie/state problem ... ?

nick-moss 12-19-2002 10:37 AM

Guys

I'm sorry but I misunderstood what you were all getting at: the ability to see old subscibed threads...

I can't see mine either!

12own911 12-19-2002 03:27 PM

Wayne, it appears to be working again! I've also started receiving the email notifications when someone posts. Thanks! I missed hearing the purr of the engine when emails are received in my Outlook. :D

ccandgc 12-19-2002 06:31 PM

I always get email notification when Im currently subscribed to an active thread...but when I select "from the beginning", it wont show any thread since I joined the BBS. At least be searching by my user name, it comes up with all my threads.....:)

ccandgc 12-19-2002 11:14 PM

Thanks for the reply Wayne,

no confusion here! Is it supposed to show all posts you sub'd to no matter when you joined? I just tried the beginning to see what it came up with-nothing! oh well...no big deal.
Keep up the great work!!

:D

dickster 12-20-2002 01:28 AM

still no go:rolleyes:

do we have to subscribe to threads now?

in the past i have been able to view all threads i posted to - without actually hitting the subscribe button.

vesnyder 12-20-2002 04:47 AM

For some reason whenever I go to look at any history of threads - 2 days and beyond - I receive a message that says there has no new posts to subscribed threads, even though I have new posts in the last day? I also receive email messages that tell me new messages have been posted? There is definitely a bug somewhere?

RazorRacer 12-20-2002 12:46 PM

vesnyder has described the problem and yes re911t, I change my e-mail in the user profile from work to home many times a week.

nick-moss 12-20-2002 12:57 PM

I can see my subscibed threads when I click on the http://forums.pelicanparts.com/images/top_profile.gif button at the top of the page. The problem occurs when I change the "Show threads from last day last 2 days....etc" then I can't see any of my threads.

This one must have the web guru scatching his head.

12own911 12-20-2002 01:29 PM

Wayne, I am sending you an email with screen shots showing what the issue is. Hope it helps. Kim.

dickster 12-20-2002 01:30 PM

just as nick described - they all dissappear, and you get the message about no new posts.

sending wayne the email should do it, i'm not that clever!

If you go to the bottom of this page, and hit 'subscribe to this thread' and then go to your User Control panel, does it show up?
sorry wayne i thought i did tell you, yeah i tried it - no go.

dickster 12-20-2002 01:43 PM

excellent - done!

well done;)

nick-moss 12-20-2002 02:29 PM

Well done Wayne, it's fixed

I think we all had a problem with communication here. Maybe because we in Blighty are at the end of the day whilst you guys in CA are just getting up, maybe suffering from a couple of drinks too much at the christams office party:)

rs911t 12-20-2002 02:33 PM

Yep - fixed. Thanks Wayne.

ccandgc 12-20-2002 03:14 PM

There we go! Much better! Just like it used to be....thanks Wayne!
