1968 Jeepster commander

Dude wants $5k.
Surface rust on frame and a little cancer on some body panels.
~88k miles runs good.
4wd works.
V6 automatic
Thinking about picking it up this morning.
Decent deal?

Is it from "the" Dude? Looks like something Lebowski would drive. Yes, a must-have.

Unfortunately he sold the top.
A soft top is ~$900.

So it's unanimous? Go get it?

Has a Buick 150hp V6. Not sloooooow, but def not fast.

If you don't own a real convertible, then buy this one.

I had that engine in my '66 CJ5. Great motor. Pretty bulletproof.

Nice to find one this original.
Most Jeeps are bought as a "starter kit" and the aftermarket parts start getting bolted on within a few minutes of leaving the dealer's lot.

This one is definitely worth keeping original.

I see you hail from Rocky Top.

You, suh, have just become a true Southern Gentleman, if you weren't one before. A seersucker suit and straw boater (and don't forget the bowtie!) will complete the look as you drive slowly around your property and into town for a Dr Pepper or a co'cola.

Congratulations!
