What sports car replaced your 911?

I miss having a 911. Every time I see a targa on the road I miss my '79 SC. I want another classic sports car but can't think of another make and model that has the soul of an air cooled Porsche.

If you've replaced your 911 or added another car to your fleet, what did you choose? Air cooled P cars are too expensive for me nowadays.

Datsun 240Z? I love to have one of those and they were Porsche fighters back in the days, I think?

I have an S2000 I drive a couple of time a week just to catch some cheap driving thrills instead of driving a 911 to my construction job sites. I like it a lot, hangs corners pretty well, and likes to rev. Honda reliability. No issues at 65000 miles but will need a new clutch soon. I live on a steep hill.

Don't really know why I sold my 89 Targa, my wife told me not to. I do regret it.
I got a 2001 red Z3 coup, it was nice but the Porsche is a much better car.

My next 'sports' car will be a Mustang GT.

Sorry, but nothing replaces an air cooled 911.

I replaced that 911 with that M3. Yeah, I'd probably go back and undo that if I could.

I like my boosted NA Miata, and it is well suited to the roads I drive. I keep seeing good early Boxsters for paltry sums. Saw a nice 2.8 Z3 today, and a nice FM2 turbo Miata set up for autocross, as well as a gen 2 Toyota MR2. Have had BMWs but no Corvette yet.

Restored a Fiat Spider 2000 a couple of years ago. Will be doing an X19 this year, if it doesn't interfere with my schedule. Almost came home with a Fox body Mustang a few times, never pulled the trigger.

Still, I wound up with another 911 in the garage. This will be the last one though.

It's a blast to drive. It's a 180 compared to my old car. The SC was great on twisting roads. I miss the sound of the engine at around 3000 rpm while taking a cruise in the summer time.
The Z06 just wants to go fast.

I sold my higher miles 993 last year and I recently bought a 2001 Boxster S with half the miles for 1/4 of what the 993 sold for. Its a very good car but not quite an air cooled 911(perhaps 90% though)

Me too..

The C6 looks the best to my eye compared to C5 or the C7. Even the standard C6 seems like a lot of car for the money.. I need to go drive one.

The 911 I had scratched an itch but in the end it lack hp. Once it was worth almost 10k more than I paid for it I was ready to move on.

Will watch this thread to see what others say....ready for a new toy.

A year old Cayman is probably on the near horizon, but in the meantime this replaced my last Porsche.....

Comments here about getting out for what you had in it or maybe more? No regrets here.

'71S
'88 Carrera

gone.

The S was cute for what it was but it was in dire need of an engine. Ditto for the Carrera.
