We keep finding these old "barn" junk cars, this one an orig SS impala 283/automatic. I suggested a 409 c.i./4 speed might liven things up a bit.

Not sure if these young guys realize how much work one of these big slab sided cars can be to get everything straight. Still be fun I guess.

That looks like a '63 with the rare console package. Does it have the two-speed "Powerglide" transmission? Quite the project...

What does the VIN say about the car?

I will wait till it gets back from the blaster before making a comment.

the VIN on the drivers door hinge says lots and lots, including: 1964 V8 car automatic (P Glide) 20 gal gas tank and 4 qt engine oil
two door sports coupe SS weight 3450 lbs, 3.08/1 diff 14 in wheels (surprised) etc etc.,

Big project. Engine runs well, car very complete but.......lots of work. Too much for me. Would make a good Bill Grumpy Jenkins car.

My BiL has had several '63 in various trims. The one he misses most is his baby blue 409/powerglide car. His current one is a 327/4 speed.

Both either/or would be nice cars

First car was a 63 impala. 283 powerglide. Thanks Grandma! She bought it new.
