Frontier Communications Issues...

Anyone else use Frontier Communications? They bought Verizon Fios and the service is exceptionally poor.

I have a commercial building that had Frontier lines hooked up to the fire alarm.

There were problems, and their service guys refused to check at the fire control panel. They said no problem where the line enters the property, and wouldn't walk an extra 100 feet to even look, though that's what I requested when I first called them.

We dumped Frontier, and have had no problems since.

I've heard that it's common for Frontier service guys to find ways to avoid work-
"Um, our fire alarm is kinda important- Can we check the signal at the control panel?"
"Not our problem" as they get back in their truck and leave.

Never again.

Finally talk to someone at Frontier and they said that the merger with Verizon Fios has left problems with the Cali, Tejas, and FLA markets...

I only have a choice between Comcast and Frontier...

Frontier sucks less...

We live in upstate NY and Frontier is the only option, they are terrible. Internet service is terrible and so is phone service but they are the only dog in the hunt.

How bad is that?

Frontier likes to hire a lot of veterans and they also are much better in my area than AT&T was. The service is still pretty bad, though.

Lots of irate folks over here.

Personally I have had no issues.

After the lightning incident last week I got really good service from customer support. On par with what it was under Verizon which was also often frustrating.

Frontier did bring a lot of the Verizon people over, definitely the field techs.

The guy who came out to take care of my neighbor was stellar.

My primary concern is how well equipped Frontier is to handle maintaining the infrastructure long term.

Our only other option is Grande and every time I've dealt with them I've come away unimpressed.

They feel to me like a small family run business where everyone who works there is a relative who knows they will never get fired and act that way.

Didn't see this article on the DMN site?

Here is the headline Three weeks after transition from Verizon to Frontier, customer complaints continue

Disaster. I was with Verizon Fios then unfortunately moved to a new house nearby when the takeover occurred. From an installation point of view Frontier were a nightmare to deal with to the point where I had no wifi for two weeks. Could not speak to anyone. Customer Service was a joke. I eventually switched to Time Warner and to this day Frontier has never called back or contacted me. In this day and age I cannot fathom how they could screw up so badly.

I made the call today to switch to Time Warner. I'm hotspotting off my iphone as I type because I have no internet again. The past month it was only on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays I didn't have internet. Now I guess they have upped it to Mondays as well.
