I understand; that's why I mentioned in my OP that I "know"'it's at least 60 years old. I think from doing some reading it's (at best) 125-150 years old.

Whatever the case- I'm just glad it piqued mom's interest and i have convinced her not to dip it in a vat of fake tung oil or sea foam green sparkle paint.
