Hoo?

Tough way to make a living. I enjoyed his YouTube stuff, but he was one dimensional in the octagon. His last match was a joke. RIP

Wow, I thought he was a lot older than that!

RIP.

Gogar 06-06-2016 08:44 PM

Wow!

I thought he was older as well.

RIP if it's true.

Steroids will do that to a person.

You make a valid point, Sir
There are some extremely powerful steroids being used and abused these days.
They inflate blood pressure to dangerous levels causing stress on the heart and a host of other problems which is probably what fried his liver too. There is nothing wrong with HRT as I am certain there are Doctors on the board. ( I am not a Dr) HRT is managed and typically in small doses. Some folks get their hands on Test or other forms of roids
and do insane amounts of it for faster results. Some of the things out there people are using is not even FDA approved. Some of it used to get cooked up in underground labs from cattle implant pellets. Now that is RISKY.....and stupid

Agreed. There is a recent article on T-Nation that lists all of the DEAD body builders from the 80s and 90s. Some very big names I recall from the Muscle & Fitness magazine days when I was a gym regular in my twenties. Probably 30+ guys that died of heart attacks or organ failure in their thirties. There's not enough dialogue about how dangerous they really are. Mostly when you hear steroids it's a scandal and a big deal from a cheating standpoint... Not the damage these kids are doing to themselves in completely injecting God knows what home brewed bro science.

My experience with steroids was second hand...never touched them myself.
15 years ago I was on a Lat Pull Down apparatus in a local fitness club - several pro body builders there.
A dude came up to me and asked if I was done, I said, "Not yet".
He put his hand on my shoulder and said, "You're done, get lost".
His body looked like skinned frog legs - his skin was super tight against his muscles, and his jaw jutted out like A. Schwarzenegger's and L. Alzado's...the classic manifestation of the side-effect of steroid use.
I got up and got lost. I was obviously not going to argue. Wisdom served me well.
Steroid users can be extremely aggressive, so I heard later...not someone you want to contest.
