Need help inputing gpx file from data logger to iphone gps.

As I am lucky enough to travel around the US on photography trips, I have begun using a gps datalogger on my cell phone to log my travels, and also to geotag my images. Lightroom and several other apps will geotag from a gpx file using the time markers.
Everything works great.
My new quest however has me stumped.
I would like to import the gpx data into a gps on my phone -like googlemaps, or whatever- that can give actual driving instructions to get us back close to these areas. That way I can share them with friends. I can see the track on several map programs- but they do not know the roads and cannot give actual driving directions back to the area.
For example if I find a beautiful vista hiking a mile or so from a waypoint, and I have recorded the drive and hike on my datalogger, I need to be able to import this into a map program that can give actual driving directions to the waypoint.
I have tried importing the data as a gpx, kmz, kml files- no luck.

The Porsche board is the smartest bunch around- any ideas??
Thanks
Gary

I haven't figured out how to make it work on google maps, but you can add gas to your google earth account. Part of the issue is that Gpx may take you off road which google maps doesn't recognize.

Supposedly if you email the Gpx to yourself you can open it in compatible apps. You might try converting it to kml?

Thanks, I do not think there is an easy way to do it.
I have tried gpx, kmz and kml files- no luck.
I can get the route to google map and google earth. I can see the route, but no actual driving navigation available. I can use it as an old fashion map and visually follow it, but was hoping for a voice driven answer- easier while driving.
With all the apps out there I would have thought someone would have done this already- looks like an opening available for a new product somewhere.
Thanks again for looking

Convert the gpx file to a kml file and then load it into google maps or whatever...

Gpx2kml.com: convert gpx to kml online. It's free, simple and fast

Importing to google maps that way is easy, and I can see the track or route on the map.
From that map, however, I cannot use navigation. I am hoping to be able to use gps navigation to guide us to specific points. I can use this as an old fashion map- but it would be easier if I can get navigation information on the same map as I can display a Kmi file
