Medical Diary or Journal?
Tapping the brain trust. Mom is 75 this year and while reasonably healthy, she does have a cronic issue that requires multiple Dr. visits per year. Unfortunately, often times, she remembers a question, after she's left the Dr. office.
I was thinking it would be a good idea to get her a diary that she could jot notes in, not only prior to the appointment but during or immediately after the visit. A program or app isn't the solution for her. I was thinking of the small (3"x5"), pre-printed notebook our family pediatrician gave us when the kids were born. The Dr. would make notes at each visit, record vaccines, plot growth, etc. Is there something similar for seniors? |

I often tell my patients to have a "doctor notebook." You write down questions you want to ask the doctor, so you don't forget to ask, and take notes on what they tell you This is particularly important when you have more than one doctor.

Yeah, also remember to present and discuss any concerns in it at the beginning of the appointment. Don't wait until the Dr. is walking out the room to whip out the notebook/ and or list of questions.
Seems obvious, but you'd be surprised how often that happens. |

Yeah, that’s not going to work for her. I saw a few options for preprinted solutions on Amazon. I’ll probably check those out. |
