Laptop advise
I've been putting money into my HP and it's still got a problem and I need a 1920 x 1080 laptop for work to get everything on one screen. I think with that kind of resolution, I'll need a big screen. I have a 1600 x 900 now with a 17" screen and it's a good balance of size/resolution, so I guess I should look at 17"+. I suspect I have to run Windows 10 unless I have the disk wiped and reloaded with Windows 7? Looking for a good quality, longer lasting unit. Don't do games. Toshiba?

You can still buy a new computer with Win 7. Search Amazon, Ebay or whatever:
17 inch screen laptop Win 7

I have a Lenovo for work and an MSI at home. MSI was the less expensive of the two but is a great laptop for the money, under 900 from Newegg. The keyboard on the Lenovo is better.
I would not fight the Windows 10 thing, you are going there like it or not ! like the old saying goes... if you are going to eat a turd, don't chew |
