Sorry, didn't read that you had to be a subscriber to view the article. Never mind.

GTV. The 2002 is cool to be certain. Alfa's of that era are really in another class. I love them both.

Nah, just a crooked iPad taking the picture.

If I told you guys about the GTs and GTVs that got away when they were affordable, it would make you cry. I've been into Alfas for a long time.

I can write my own review on that one...

Granted my 02 is an erzatz Tii (later model fuel injection conversion) but same power.

I really like both cars... The biggest difference not necessarily evidenced by the articles I've read is the size. The BMW is positively huge compared to the alfa... (on my pic the alfa sits on ramps and is still lower)

That's easier. One has panel gasps so poor you could use it as a mailbox.
The other is a fun bimmer... ;-)

I'll bet I could make you cry. I got into Alfas in 1971. First one, 1962 Giulietta Spider, perfect body and fresh engine rebuild, some assembly required, $125.00. Many more followed.

That's longer than me. About 20 years ago, (maybe less), I was wanting a GTV and visiting Santo's, a respected Alfa shop out in North Hollywood. There were lots of cars there, from his own to customer cars in for service to quite a few long term storage cars in his lot.

There was a pretty decent '69 GTV w original seats and a '65 GT covered in dust w some cool driving lights on it. It was for sale but the owner was out of the country or something so I could not get info or a price right away. Although it needed a light resto, it seemed to be almost perfect in terms of being straight and dry. Interior pretty nice w some rally equipment. Perfect step nose and grille.

I let it slide a while and when I finally got back to him, it was sold. It turned out to have some cool rally history and a great motor, etc. I think it went cheap but I really don't want to think about it.

I'll try to post a pic when I get home, I think I have a snap shot of,it on my mirror full of car pictures.
