Blue Angels!
The Angels are officially back in the air!
Three shows here, July 2, 3 and 4! Open house at the airport commences @ 6PM with a meet and greet. Gonna see if I can squeeze my way in. They're practicing overhead right now. Awesomeness! |

Update:
Suddenly I found myself on the Tarmac of the Coast Guard Air Station making a beeline toward the first aviator I could find. Lo and Behold I'm soon standing next to Cmd Ryan Bernacchi (#1)! Nearly speechless, I immediately offered my condolences to the loss of Captain Jeff Kuss (#6) on 6 June last. Cmd Bernacchi's response was for me odd at the time. He smiled, thanked me for the sentiment and said, 'It happens. We studied it, we looked at it, determined what happened so it doesn't happen again and we moved on.' Just about that time a small crowd gathered which included a young mom who nudged forward her wide-eyed little boy of 8 or 9, I would guess. In that awe-struck package of innocence' hands was a hard cover photography book of 'The Blue Angels In Flight'. 'Excuse me sir, said the commander to me as he squatted to ask that lad what had he in his hands, 'Can I see it?' That boy suddenly erupted with exuberance and proceeded forthwith to instruct the Commander all about air speeds and thrust and formations and I don't know what all. The Commander then asked, 'Which is your favorite picture?' Patiently waiting as the boy flipped through the book finally he said, 'Would you like me to sign it?' The boy thrust the book forward, Cmr Bernacchi signed it and thanked that proud boy then rose to stand. 'Have a nice flight tomorrow, sir.' I somehow mumbled. 'Thank you, sir. I plan on it.' The end.
