Plasti-dip (aka dipping) your car has come a long way!
In very little time.
I know using plasti-dip on your entire car isn't everyone's cup o' tea and may or may not harm the paint, but I have to admit, they have come a long way since the 5 color only, matte finishes....case in point:

If I can get a match for Smokey Quartz in matte I'm in.

Plasti-dip is huge with the Miata crowd.
Think I would vinyl my car before doing that... I'm guessing the Plasti cost less?

As far as I know, they can color match pretty well, though not quite as accurate as paint.
I have no clue how much it is to dip your whole car (correctly) but I do know that doing so would probably be easier than vinyl for the novice, but that is just from my experience with generic dip from a can. It was super easy and if you made a mistake, it was easy to peel and try again. Even the guy in the video mentions in another video that he tapes and masks areas of the car he doesn't want the dip on but in reality you can do the whole car, just have to peel off the parts you didn't want covered once it dries. I did a couple emblems and can verify it's easy to peel off the parts you didn't want covered, but on an entire car, it just may be easier to mask off first. Yes, it can be touched up, just apply more dip and it fills in. The thicker it is though, the more a touch up will show since they will be at different thicknesses.

Almost cheap, and easy enough, that you could change colors monthly.

I'm not getting the mojo out of the texture and sheen. But, for a daily driver needing some TLC could see this as a low cost quicky 'spruce it up.'

I love it on alloy wheels that are either going to see extreme wether, or
ones that already have seen that weather and need refinishing. On my 10 year old truck I just washed the now crappy wheels, and hosed on some dip. No prep. No fixing the peeling finish, just hosed it on. It wasn't until two years later when the surface underneath bubbled up a bit from the existing corrosion that I touched up a few spots the same way.

I think the attraction for many, myself included, is it's a far more DIY solution vs wrapping and very cost effective. Screwing it up while you figure it out ain't gonna cost you too much.
