Comfortable work shoes
I need them. Even with a rubber chef's mat, I'm on my feet and pressing down all day long at times, and my dogs are barking.
Don't need steel toe, just a super comfortable shoe, doesn't even have to be a work shoe.

Back in the day, before I landed this sweet indoor office gig, I used anything from Nike that had a 360 airbag. (Full outsole airbag) Problem is, they're not cheap and they didn't last much more than 6 months or so of all day standing on concrete...

Shaun,
You work too hard, what you really need is a Lazy-boy! Doc Martens seem to be comfortable and durable, although when I first got them, I had to double bandage my heel for a week or so until the leather got soft.

When I was working at a hospital my favorite shoe/boot stopped being made. Found the last pair in my size in the US, and as they started to wear out, I started paying attention to what the floor nurses were wearing.
Rockport Walkers, about 90% of them. Have been wearing them since. http://www.rockport.com/m7100-prowalker/m7100milprowlkr.html |

I'm not on my feet as much as you but I do work on my feet most of the day.
I have double wide feet so I buy New Balance online: New Balance Outlet Shoe Store

Dansko Wynn is what I wear in the restaurant. I get about 2 years out of them.

Give Blundstone boots a shot. Recommend that you find a local retailer so you can try them on and find the correct size.

DR Martens are mostly made in China and have gotten real cheap. Few UK made models left. |

I wear these, Thorogood work boots. Made in the USA and better than Red Wings...
![]() https://www.amazon.com/Thorogood-814-4200-Moc-Toe-Boot/dp/B001QJ4I5C/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1467389047&sr=1-1&nodeID=679255011&keywords=thorogood+boots A lot of guy here at work wear Skechers, Merrel and Mephisto (too expensive for my cheap a$$). We are on our feet 12-14 hours a day on stages and locations, you might not need as much support.

I've bought three pairs of red wings over the past 37 years, they were the most uncomfortable boots I ever tried on.
Stiff, took forever to break in, no thanks. For my money it's wolverines. ![]() ![]() |

When you say your dogs are barking, where exactly are you having problems? Heels, ball of the foot, only after being on them, or first thing in the morning too.
Different brands work better for different people. Used to use Rockports a lot, now I wear SAS dress shoes to work. Ecco, Mephisto, Clarks are all pretty good. You may need to swap out the insoles for something that gives more support. I like Superfeet for that, maybe Spenco

Everyone is different, and what is comfortable now it will change over time. You'll just have to try a lot of different shoes, try to identify what hurts (just your feet or do your knees and back hurt too?).
I've been all over the map with shoes, from racing flats to custom orthotics. Now the most comfy for me is a hiking boot with a really, really stiff sole and a Spenco insert. If I did this to my foot I'd be limping for a week. ![]()

G'day!

Have you ever tried Crocs, Shaun?
I wear them routinely and find them to be very functional and easy on my feet. The style called "Classic" is my favourite because it has a lot of ventilation holes to let my dogs breathe. I also wear their flip flop style called the "Crocband Flip" and love them when I can wear them. Right now they have a 30% off sale based on a purchase of 2 pair. Free shipping and they take returns. Check out the posted reviews which are very helpful. Good luck!

What I do is buy the $160 made in America (critical) New Balance 1540 V2 AND put the $40 Red Wing inserts in them. They change the model number every couple of years so whatever costs 160+ AND are made in America is what smarter fat boys wear. If you ain't fat, you will be super golden. Bank on this. Mine last 9 months and a new pair is bliss. Inserts last longer. I will say the NIKE's look sweet as do the Thorogoods. Buy the Redwing insert or a $60 arch support insert (full retail) at a better shoe store. I can't vouch for the other's as I have not tried them but at 6', 275, the NB are the bomb. New Balance 1540v2 - Men's 1540 - Running, Motion Control - New Balance - US - 2 Black hides the dirt. ![]()

I usually wear my workboots for everyday work wear, but right now we're doing pre production (not shooting yet) so I'm sporting my P.F. Flyers. They are actually very comfortable....

Yes, getting up a 4AM two days in a row to finish a customer's frames definitely means I work too hard. But it keeps me from hanging out on street corners and getting into trouble with the law. ![]() And I love what I do. ![]()
