Yes, not me but we have a couple among regulars the here.

yes we were.

DSS was the biggest problem. main reason we got.
wife just told me the only couple still doing when we were has I think she said 11 kids and and they are trying to give them more.
DSS is also wanting THEM to take the kids to visit their parents with no more money for support.
they had also increased the number of training hours, another reason we got out. it just got too much mainly for ME to get the hours.

I remember one meeting we went and DSS gets up and talks about how things are going and one of the things they seemed to be proud of is how many kids went into foster care. when they said the number everyone clapped. I started to get up and ask why are you clapping. that means their are now X number of kids that live(D) in a bad situation and are now separated from their parents.

my wife could tell you more of the bad things with DSS. she was VERY involved and new a LOT about what was going on,

for instance,
short version:
they were about to give a kid back to a druggie parent. DSS did not do their job by keeping track of the parents drug use. my wife new from another foster parent that had their kids taken (looong story) that the parent was still doing drugs.
my wife had to inform DSS at the last minute of what was going on.

DSS, what a horrible organization. you the VA is bad.

we would like to think we helped some kids.
she still keeps in touch with some of the parents of the kids we had. I think that says a lot for her because we can even be considered the "bad guys" that took their kids.

we adopted a 12 yr old boy several years ago.
tried to get his baby sister also but the mother "sold him out" in court just to try to get the possibility of seeing his sister again. she went to the dad.
my wife found out that he was friends/related to the DSS people in his state and was able to cover up things that would have kept him getting her.
my wife tries desperately to try to keep some kind of relationship between the 2 but its a struggle.
