Impressed With the Local Dollar Store!!

Recently I expressed my concern on how expensive laundry soap is, so my girlfriend said just buy it at the Dollar Store. So we ventured in there and I was pleasantly surprised at the price of stuff!

I walked out with two medium sized bottles of liquid laundry soap for $1 each, the same Tide stuff is almost $6-$7 even at Walmart. I was also surprised at the neat storage plastic containers (great for the garage) that is also priced at $1 each...going back soon!

I was laughing thinking at how much extra money I could have to spend on the car, if I had only bought Laundry soap there over the past 10+ years!

So I used the Dollar Store laundry soap last night and was very happy with the scent and also how clean everything washed.

S&R: A dollar store is next to my bank, so I stop in once a month or so. I'm generally happy like you. A few items I no longer buy there:

1) Car Wash soap....Very watery and no suds.
2) Peanuts - Stale and hard
3) Ice Cream - So old, it's freezer Burnt.

When traveling, I hit a dollar store to cheep drinks and snacks. In the south, you can find a Dollar store just about anywhere.

I worry about piracy goods. I heard people fake Crest toothpaste. I'm not sure.

Impressed With the Local Dollar Store!!

Last time I was there I went and bought all of their snap mouse traps. I taped up the snappers to soften the blow and covered my dinner table with the traps. I put a sandwich up there. My GSP mix, sandwich thieving pup would jump up on the table to steal food.

The cashier asked if I had a huge mouse problem. Haha

I said. No just one big one.

I use the green cleaner / degreaser in my ultrasonic. A buck for about 3/4 of a gallon...

We have several dollar stores in our little city. Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree.

The first 2 stores have various prices, at Dollar Tree everything is $1.

I shop for some things at all 3.

Cleaning supplies are what I buy the most but cheap, no name brand snacks are good buys versus a grocery store. The kids don't know the difference.

Honestly the mix of people at Family Dollar and Dollar General is less odd than at Walmart.

My wifes favorite place for school supplies, she's a teacher.

Was in with her one day wandering around while she shopped.

Remembered we needed dish soap.

Grabbed a 3 pack for $1.

Tossed it all after using half the first bottle.

I think adding water to the dish water would have yielded more suds.

I guess the products are hit or miss.

For $1 I guess it's cheap enough to take a flyer now and again.

I buy Dawn dish soap there .... best degreaser, great for parts cleaning, much better than commercial brands from the auto stores at several dollars a can.
