Going to see another Mustang(Mach 1)...

2003 Mach 1. 27,000 miles. Hoping the car is as clean as this guy says it is, it's 1.5 hours away.

The ad wasn't clear "all original right to the tires"...if those tires are indeed the original tires, don't push 'em on a test drive. Original size but new? Okay, then go for it. 27,000 miles sure sounds better than 127,000. Thus the higher than blue book price.

No V8?

They are the original tires. He told me straight up they are will need replacing soon.

In my book, the car is not really original because it has window tint.

pwd72s 07-22-2016 10:50 PM

In the Mustang world, window tint is a minor modification...an appearance upgrade if you will. I've never done it or tried to remove tint, but might be good for price negotiation purposes.

However, the price he is asking because of the low miles is getting close to SN197 pricing for similar low miles. I figure if I wanted to sell my '09 Bullitt quickly. I'd go after $18,000. It's at 23,000 miles. BUT...I'm not interested in selling. The car has served me well so far.

If it's a real Mach 1, must be an ad misprint. Here's a Motor Trend review on a 2003 Mach 1.

I just emailed him an offer of $17k.

Seems like a ton of money for a 13 year old V6 Mustang.

Nice! All original is pretty irrelevant in this case, it's very doubtful that it will ever be a collector car.

Read the Motor Trend review above. If it's a real Mach one, it's no V-6. Ad probably has a misprint.

If you're looking for a good driver, thank your lucky stars for that.

The bring a trailer Cobra looks interesting as well. Depends on whether or not you like blowers.

scottmandue 07-23-2016 08:07 AM

Did he edit the ad? Because I don't see a mention of a V6... I'm no Mustang expert (unless it is pre 1970) but pretty sure the V6 did not come with the hood scoop.

That is one sweet looking ride thou!

RANDY P 07-23-2016 08:36 AM

I'd spend a few more on a 03 Cobra. They be cheep homie. It'll hold it's value better as well. You're gonna wind up there anyhow, might as well save a few dollars getting right to the point.

Brought it home. Paid $15,000 for it. A bit too much, but his claims of 'pristine' were accurate. It IS on the original tires from dealership. Crazy. Total garage queen. Even paint patina. Runs/drives perfectly. Needs nothing. Lots billet upgrade parts in the engine compartment, with every single stock piece in a box in the back!

Makes a fantastic sound. I'm a happy boy. :D

Funny, I was going to say "offer him,$15,000" :)

So, may we presume is IS a V8?

RANDY P 07-23-2016 08:58 AM

Nice...

pwd72s 07-23-2016 09:01 AM

Sure it's a V-8. The V-6 doesn't make a "fantastic sound".

I'd sure be giving it new tires ASAP. Otherwise, drive and enjoy.

Is it faster than a well set up 944?

(edit) Below is from the Motor Trend review of the 2003 Mach 1:

At the test track, it proved clear that this reborn Mach 1 is far more than period graphics, ’60s/’70s-style Magnum 500 wheels, “shaker” hood scoop, and semi-gloss-black deck spoiler. Our five-speed-equipped Mach 1 shot to 60 mph in 5.3 sec and cleared the quarter mile in 13.8 sec at 102.5 mph. That’s all over the 5.2 to 60 and 13.5 at 107.3 posted by the last Camaro SS we tested–which cost a good five grand more. If you feel you need a bigger Mustang hammer, the $34,750 SVT Cobra gets to 60 in just 4.7 sec and does the quarter in 12.8 at 113.2 mph. How fast did you say you wanted to spend?

RANDY P 07-23-2016 09:05 AM

Go find a car show. Do a burn out. Film it. ;)
