El Galeon!

Google El Galeon.

El Galeón is a 170 foot, 495 ton, authentic wooden replica of a galleon that was part of Spain’s West Indies fleet. With information about 16th century European sailing techniques and technology.

Just toured this thing today. Magnificent! Tour guide said it cost $9M and was built in 2009.

The replica of Cabrillo's San Salvador, the first European ship to reach the west coast, should be opening to the public pretty soon on the San Diego waterfront. I'm excited to see it.

That came to Bay City 2 weeks ago. My FIL took my son to see all of the tall ships. They took the tour of this one, too.

On FB there are some cool pics of it going under the Blue Water Bridge on the St. Clair River.

What a great project.

My farm looks out on St. Clements Island, where the Ark and the the Dove landed in 1634.
