OC CCW application

The GF and I are applying for an OC CCW. She's a retired Tustin PD Sergeant and I a retired investigator. Stay tuned. Seems pretty straight forward. OC claims to be the easiest to get in CA.

We'll see...... the incident the next door with the juvenile delinquent put us over the edge and may help us in justification.

cstreit 07-24-2016 07:13 PM

You need to justify the need?

Joe Bob 07-24-2016 07:15 PM

It's a major part of the application. They provide two pages for the write up. Even if you have LEO experience. Remember this is liberal hell.

9dreizig 07-24-2016 07:28 PM

with your history of crazy women,, should you really be arming her ? :-)

Hugh R 07-24-2016 07:30 PM

CA says I can't be trusted with a CCW, I guess the State knows what's best for me. Where is that green font thingie?

James Brown 07-24-2016 07:30 PM

washington is a shall issue state

Joe Bob 07-24-2016 07:31 PM

She has four pistols one more than I do.....but I have a shotgun and an AR.....CCWs from AZ, WA and OR.

id10t 07-24-2016 07:37 PM

HR 218 should let you carry, but I think authorization is given by the dept you retire from.

red-beard 07-24-2016 07:37 PM

Why? You should be good to go.

Where my sister has a place in Yosemite it is basically shall issue.

An AR ?? aren't they illegal in Californicatia ?

SeanPizzle 07-24-2016 09:03 PM

Do you buy and sell things at garage sales and flea markets and/or Craigslist for cash? If you don't, you do now. Do you travel around at odd locations and off business hours?

This, and a wife in a wheelchair is what solidified my CCW

red-beard 07-25-2016 05:13 AM

GOD I'm glad I live in a shall issue state.

Rick Lee 07-25-2016 05:42 AM

No permit necessary in AZ for open carry or CCW.

My instructor in AZ was a cop, did all our prints at his house after the class for $5/person and personally submitted them for everyone.

Joe Bob 07-30-2016 08:23 AM

My prints are IN THE SYSTEM, why do I need another set?

Geneman 07-30-2016 09:49 AM

is your genome in the system joe bob?

Joe Bob 07-30-2016 09:51 AM

Nope, never convicted of a felony or sued for fathering a child......so no, yer not my kid.

jyl 07-30-2016 11:25 AM

Applied for my WA CHL. $50, fingerprints, and a few weeks.

Got my OR CHL when I moved here. $? (I forget), fingerprints, mandatory class, a few weeks.

I rather preferred the process that required the class.

And this illustrates exactly how motivated bureaucrats can grind a right into nothingness.

KFC911 09-12-2016 10:38 AM

I've started to keep a Ruger LC9S handy in my truck at all times (legally), and actually have it in my pocket most days while on my rural property. One can open carry here in NC, but no one does. I know I'll never "ask" permission via a CCW though...the whole concept is foreign to me.

Twice about a month ago I had two seperate friendly encounters with LEO on my urban neighbor's property after he called them about some lowlife H addicts he had hired to do siding. I had the Ruger in my pocket and told them so upon their arrival...non-issue. I told them both I knew I was illegal, but didn't want to open carry my Combat Commander and get folks (neighbor's kid) alarmed. When it comes to personal safety and protecting one's self or property, imo...you do whatever is necessary...and asking permission just isn't part of the equation. But that's just me...

If you tried that in California you'd have your own sticky at the top of the forum home page.
