When I had a 78 Trans Am just out of high school, many times I would pull the t-tops out on a sunny 25 degree day and run with the heat all the way up.

This time of year? You'd be fk'n nuts not to run the ac. I'll roll the window down if I get too cold.

100 degrees, 40% humidity today in Austin. No way you can do without, especially in traffic, the pavement is 140 degrees. Most have working a/c in their whoopties here.

I fix 'em from time to time.

Here you kind of need AC. Like you might die without it.

My friend and I did the same thing! He got a 77 Bandit Edition T/A for graduation.

Good times.

My Renault Clio 172 Cup, being a factory homologation special, Renault left out the aircon, and the ABS, and the traction control, fitted cloth rather than leather seats, thinner glass, no spare wheel, lighter wheels, wider track and flared fenders to suit, and boy does it go well as a result of the 196 lbs saving. However, in the rain or on hot days, when driving to the Solo2's(no trailered cars allowed for this in the UK) that I use it for I miss the aircon, so I bought some plastic wind deflectors for the door windows and they work well. Slightly open windows now dont admit the rain and prevent misting up, and fully open one can cruise on the highway without getting wind battered.
NB note to Porsche: Renault charged considerably less, about $3000,for leaving out those expensive items, even though they fitted improved suspension and wheels, compared to the standard Clio 172..
