Too much self-esteem... or not enough?
You know how when something happens like a tornado and there's always somebody who's willing to talk on camera, but they really shouldn't?
Check out the woman that appears here at about :50. Deputies: Suspect Dead, Deputy Injured | wltx.com And oh, yeah... another scumbag punk bites the dust... or the steering wheel. |
oh she's just plain folk.
|
I don't think it's right to look down on those of lower social station than oneself. If she was behaving in an offensive manner I might understand, but she was simply reporting what she saw.
|
I don't understand the OP at all.
The woman seems really nice and said nice things about the officer. Candidate for douche bag post of the year? |

I agree. I thought she sounded like a nice lady. So..she doesn't have teeth or dentures and that's enough for the OP to judge her. Good to know the OP can quickly assess a person's qualities by their physical appearance. I guess in this celebrity worshipping society it's all about screen presence  |
Pretty judgy, granted she is not of the upper chardonnay class that many of you run with, seems like typical country rural to me. Not a harm in a ton of them.
I would rather be around 1% bikers, toothless rural folk, and hard core po city blacks then the marjority of fake white crustless yup I have met in my short 52 complete rotations around the sun. |
Dentures are fairly common, even in The South where they are celebrated!

After all, you said goodbye and deleted yourself from PP because you realized it was time. Remember that? |
She forgot her teeth... And?

John,
Might I suggest using green font so as to be clear in your humor lest it appears that you are now back-peddling from an unfavorable image? Yes, she does have a stereotypical image. |
Hey lets give John some grace here guys. Besides, that women looks a lot like my Granny...at least the absence of the teeth anyway...
|
She deserves her own reality TV show!
Purdy and no teeth, don't get much better than that, oh yeah and smart as a puppy. |

Whatcho doin' on the tee vee?? |
After a recent little wimpy F1 tornado in the local area that tore up some trees and a barn a local TV station interviewed a local woman. She was fairly attractive, articulate and spoke intelligently about the storm and that with their insurance they would have the barn repaired and the horses were all fine. I felt almost cheated
Invariably the reporters find the toothless person to quote "I seed it comin over the hill and it tored up my mobile home" I really suspect the real reason we see those types on TV more is that they want to be on TV. Their 15 minutes of fame. |
So are you saying Glen, is that this lady esteems herself on the overmuch end of the spectrum?
|
Maybe we need something like green font for when you want to say something demeaning but don't actually want to be perceived as a dick.
|
No green ink is required, I found out.

Not every neighborhood is going to be posh. |
The woman spoke with good grammar and gave a cogent recitation of the events she observed. She had good presence on camera which I can tell you from first hand experience not all professionals (me included) possess on their first TV appearance, whether local or network. I see no reason to criticize her. And many members of PPOT would not have done as well on their inaugural appearance on television.
|
Just lacking teeth and not self conscious about it. Some of you guys have never been out of your upper middle class neighborhood? There are a lot of people in the US without teeth and many of them don't think too much about it - half the people they know in their social circle don't have teeth either.
And yes, I would not try to be in the street when the TV crew comes to ask someone about the events. With OR without teeth! G |

I find it very sad that someone can be judged by their 'natural' physical appearance. Especially when it involves a different social class. Its like making fun of rich people with expensive nose or boob jobs... except in reverse. This shows no class whatsoever. Tolerance is something that Americans are in very short supply of these days.
Now, change the subject to obesity, tattoos, anything gang related, lifestyle related, etc, and I am all onboard for judging people. They are asking for it. |
