Sim racing thread; Is anyone switching from iRacing to Assetto Corsa?
Any sim racers in here? Anyone switching from iRacing to Assetto Corsa (AC) now that AC has licensed PORSCHE content on the way?
|
Haven't tried AC yet, but I'm tempted to do so,now that I have an Oculus Rift.
BTW, iRacing is unreal in Oculus. |
been a while since I played regularly but I can't imagine something with better physics than iRacing. Is AC comparable?

You guys need this... (my son's creation, that he designs/manufactures/sells, part time, from the KTEK world headquarters in Huntington Beach)
GranStand – Sim Racing Products Bill K |
I would be willing to give AC a try. I don't want to be stuck with a subscription to race.
Bill, the price on those seems pretty competitive but I need a desk to do flight sim as well as racing. Does he have adapters for HOTAS controllers as well? Similar to Volair or Obutto? |
Off the top of my head, I'd say yes- he has, or could make, whatever adapters you need to fly your desk around the office/house.
I'll forward your inquiry to him. Bill K |
I was a die hard iRacing fan but AC seems to have better force feedback and overall feel when driving the car. The cars also have way more grip which seems a bit more realistic to me. The cars in iRacing sometimes spin even at very slow speeds? Hopefully someone with real life GT or open wheel car experience can make a comparison. I have a 911 track car and it doesn't feel anywhere as snappy as the cars in iRacing. Maybe I'm just not pushing enough lol?

The only problem I have with Occulus Rift is not being able to see my hands and wheel (real not virtual) when driving. It's disorienting for me but the 360 degree view is nice.
