Do your kids poke fun at your old photos?

My son found a picture of my wife and me back in the eighties and posted it on Facebook. He said nice things about his Mom and a comment about my mullet. Hey, it was the eighties! Everybody wore a mullet! Anyway, it was all in fun and invited many hilarious comments.

Do your kids think you look funny in your old photos too?

My dad was someone I always looked up to - even in old photos. Not much to poke fun of. He cut down a set of Forrest, built a road, and constructed his own house, all while working a high level job. Nothing to make fun of really... Even in the teenage years, he moved out at 15.

Yes they do.

This is my band around 1987. I'm in the black Ludwig shirt.

Thanks. I told him that the mullet is today's scraggly hipster beard and his kids will poke of him too, guaranteed.

What comes around goes around. Nice you reminded him of that.

Nah, wife and I were way cooler in our youth. Made sure kids did not know until too old to emulate.

Wayne, that's an impressive photo. Love the trucks.

You guys played the part well.
How far did you get?

Do you have any recordings online?

Do you still play Ludwig drums?
Were you a big Bonham fan?

Love the truck composition. Maximum Overdrive influence?
My guess, from left to right: Guitar, bass, drums, vocals.

Who was the Ludwig influence? Bonham, Ringo, or Lombardo? Do you still play drums?

Do you have any old recordings online?
What do you think of the Steel Panther act?

Wow, good job on the instrument lineup! The vocalist is my best friend still but we broke up this band shortly after this pic was taken. We did some headlining gigs around Detroit but the guitarist and bass player were into the "scene" more than we were. We formed another group with 2 other guys with a different musical direction. I still play although not with a band. My first drum was a Ludwig and I've played the brand all my life, 44 years now actually. The biggest influence for me was Danny Seraphine from the band Chicago. I didn't get into Zep, Rush, or other heavy bands until my teen years. Another influence was Jimmy Marinos from The Romantics.

Here's the cassette cover from the other band we formed.

This from a headline gig at our local carnival. We were rockstars in our little town.
I've never seen Steel Panther.

We've tried to keep any recordings of the BOIZ music from getting out but you might find some using Google. Luckily, my friend has the master recordings. It was cool at the time but embarrassing when we look back.

My best friend/vocalist on my HS graduation night, 1985. My kids forget that I wasn't always just "Dad". I did have a life before marriage and kids.

Ok, someone else's turn now.

7 guys in the before pic, only 6 in the after. Did one of the group pass or just not there that day?
