How to hook up iphone to laptop and create a hotspot connection?

Had to reload my O/S and lost my iPhone connection. Can't figure out how to do it again. Edumicate me, please.

Nope....wankers at IBM sold me a laptop with W7, recovery discs were for W8. Got the new discs w/o the MS office suite.....weekend w/o 1/2 my brain....thank God I bought the extended 3 year warranty. But nothing gets done on the weekend. No virus software either.....

Yes, Hugh is correct, on Iphone goto settings and turn on personal hotspot.

You can connect to laptop with BT, Wifi, or a USB cable.

Plug iPhone into laptop, turn personal hotspot on. Select USB on phone. Connect to the network via laptop. Pretty simple.

ATT here and I don't pay for the personal hotspot either, only data charges.

What a PITA, got it working.....now to get GOOD MS office pro discs. The ones Lenovo sent out are defective....don't have the "run" option on the pull down.
