Well, in fairness, it's a '77.

I recall on Rennlist, a VW VR6 swap into a 993.

At first - I gagged at the thought, but then I started googling...

The Lambda is available as a 3.8 rear while drive with a six speed manual - and the engine is longitudinal.

Hmmm... A nice light 77 with 300 horsepower all aluminum GDI engine and a six speed manual? And from a guy KNOWN to build metric tons of power unto things... The sky could be the limit with the horsepower.

I'm frankly curious. Lets see what he does with it.

A GM 3800 twin turbo powered 911 would be great. That ship has sailed though. The cost of a roached out older 911 is too much at this point.

Is that the V6 out of a Grand National?
A early 911 with a GM turbo V6 was for sale locally a few years back, I was going to look at it until there was talk of an overheating problem.

Not sure why all the acrimony about the Hyundai engine... stuffing a chevy into a Porsche has become pretty common place, what is the difference?

Hhahaa - it's true! Whose idea do you think it was to put the 911 engine in the 550 replica KITCAR! This heretic!

Also to my list of personally involved heresy... a 13B rotary into a Fiat X1/9, small block chevy into an XJ6 sedan, LS1 into a Nissan 240SX, and next on the block are a couple of LS3 or similar into a pair of dead Porsche 944's.

These aren't things I would do to NICE cars, but if they are already dead/dying/missing their drive trains and on their way to the crusher unless someone with a bunch of $$$ to spend intervenes - I say swap something in and keep 'em on the road!

I don't think Hyundai carries the stigma it once did. They're no longer an 'also ran' brand.

Agreed. LS and Subie motors in 911's are commonplace nowadays and economically prudent. Hyundai once known as one of the cheapest cars on the road, powering one of the most elite brands and iconic models.... Gotta admit it's ironic. Probably the intent of the tuner.
