My daughter discovered it tonight. There were 20 or 30 kids walking around the neighborhood at dusk. That is an unusual sight, way to go Pokemon Go. Whatever you are doing at least my kid is outside.

We just snagged a squirtle. They are rare.
Must have been attracted to the neighbors pool.

Went out for a walk tonight; the park near my house had many more people than usual (all carrying their phones and congregating near "landmarks"). Looks like Pokemon Go is getting people outside...

I don't really use my phone for anything but an occasional call, or texting someone about something for sale. My daughter had to explain this whole scenario of trying to catch Pokemons to me....still have no desire to wander around aimlessly, looking for imaginary beasts.
I guess if it gets the sedentary people off of thier butts and outside, it's good, until they start walking out into traffic, or pay more attention to thier phone than driving thier car. |

A report this AM on national news - "thiefs" lured players to their location using some mechanism with the game (a "lure"?) and were then robbed.

My 18yo left early for work (summer job at Lowes) this morning to walk there (short"ish" walk), and that's good to see him actually be outside without being "forced!
Nintendo stock jumped 25% today..... The app has been downloaded by 5% of Android phones in the USA according to one report I read. e

You need to register as walking to hatch them. People have tried treadmills, no go, GPS knows you are stationary. Cars, no go, moving too fast and or your legs / body are not moving. Seems cycling slow works though. So they are in fact forcing physical activity.

While I do not really know anything about this, I have always though Nintendo did better as it related to physical activity within the video game world.
Remember the Wii, that was all about moving. |
