Of all the topics to ignore on this Board? This topic is the one that effects your future and your children's futures the most.

You can give BO's foreign policy and spend till you drop government a resounding round of applause for this state of affairs.

The end result of a continuation of this sort of thing is that your money and bonds are no fking good.* Worthless pieces of toilette paper. Americans don't get it, everybody else in the world gets it about their currencies, why don't Americans get it about theirs?

* Everything you have will become worthless, RE, pension funds, stocks, 401K's, your prized baseball card collection of Hummels. Read about Weimar Germany in the 20's and 30's, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and think globally.

This is not politics nor religion....this is pure economics. The leadership merely reflects the current mind set of Americans.

The mere fact that you want to sweep these unpleasant thoughts off to PARF is reflective of that Eloi mindset.

Is PARF your only outlet for making change or do you have others??

We can talk and talk about what is happening vs what should be done, but what can we actually do about it?? What do you do about it??

My bad...I thought I was posting this on PARF...I made another thread there.

(edit) BTW, I pretty much agree with Tabs on this...

Because the US dollar has been used in international trade...the official currency. It shows another flaw in our current foreign policy.

1) it's the only currency that is stable and reasonably certain it isn't going to turn to worthless paper. No one trades in Iraqi Dinars for a reason.

2)- the USA can manipulate its value, which is great for the USA and before you blab back, I do agree with it. Better the USA than someone else. The other countries don't like it? Fine, use your currency see if anyone accepts it.

There is a common thread among people who are really smart. You can see it in Nostatic or MRM or earlySman or Grady Clay on this board. They have more than a hint of humility that comes from having a concept about how much there truly is to know and usually some patience w the rest of us.

The sign of an absolute idiot, almost without fail, is that they think they know everything. Donald Trump springs to mind, as well as a small number of posters here.

There is no mystery.

The mere fact that I listen and respond to your and everyone elses (without being reactive) claims, accusations, questions, challenges, inquires belies the validity of your above observation.

Other than to prepare ourselves psychologically, not much.

So much can go so wrong so fast that protecting yourselves from all of them is not possible.

Nothing else matters if you do not survive the initial panic and subsequent reassertion of authority.

What you possess when it hits is likely all you will have until stability returns and the recovery gets underway. Depending on the severity of the upheaval and the earnestness of the new authority, stability and recovery could take months or years or even decades. Or never happen at all.

Who is this ominous "them"???

So what's everyone doing this weekend to prepare for the upheaval?

I'm having a timing belt and upheaval preparation party! Who's in??
