Hamish’s favorite cat toy. I can’t even pick it up without him responding. Walmart for $1.97. Couldn’t even pick it up to take a pic when he came bounding in from another room and started batting at it.

The official CAT thread

Expensive VET day.

Dobby, our troll that lives under our house in the shop tangled with a ??????, about a month ago. We have been monitoring a bite wound on his shoulder that healed(we thought) then began oozing the yuk last week.

He is a nightmare to deal with so two hours before the appointment, sedatives powdered in his morning wet food(does nothing). I slip on the gauntlet welding glove and arm myself with a heavy duty binder clip and off we go.

The vet is thankful I do all of the handling while she shot his ass with a knock out drug. He still managed, with a towel over his head and me keeping his head and body pinned, to get through my glove.

Anyway, a drain will be placed into the shoulder, an antibiotic shot that is good for five days, and all of his booster shots.

I pick him back up at 4:00 PM.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Sincerely
“Remind me why we have animals, again?”

I will edit and attach a pic later of him tripping balls.

Oh yeah, Dobby is our bi-polar 16 pound terror that showed up on the property 10 years ago. Has never been right after getting fixed at our local animal outreach. I think the cooked him due to an allergic reaction to something that gave him. High fever resulted.

I understand the glove but not the binder clip; is that for the Feline Vulcan Neck Pinch?

Sort of,

I got the idea from a vet video on how to deactivate a cat. I used the clamp on my arm to test the pressure first. The jury is still out though. It might have tuned him down a little. Our vet actually uses them, but they call them “calming clips” and I don’t think they are binder clips. He is such a handful, I figured it was worth a try. Placement might have something to do with it. In rewatching the video, it seems they place it a little lower than where I clipped it.
