Sad day.
We had a couple of other strays show up including this really sweet, friendly Calico. She was so tame you could walk right over and pick her up first time meeting her and she did not complain. Has been spending hours at a time in yards hanging out with the neighborhood kids. Was taking the trash out this morning and saw one of the neighbors stop, hop out of her car and run up the street. I saw something in the road and knew right away. She was a sweet little girl and the entire block is devastated right now. Keep your beasts inside people. RIP Kibbles. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1490110356.jpg |
So sad. 😔
We had a Tuxedo kitten outside our front door night before last. 1am it was meowing... I hope it makes it, Coyotes are out there. |

Hit by a car. Car never slowed down or tried to avoid. I believe it's one of the new neighbors farther down the street. That neighbor actually stopped on her way back into the hood as I was removing Kibbles. She was very upset when she saw Kibbles laying there in the street. She has no idea it's probably her that ran the cat over. She's a nice lady, reluctant to tell her. |

Sorry to hear about that. Kibbles looked like a cute and friendly kitty. Dealing with the motoring public professionally, most can't drive beyond the front of their hoods. It's just the way society has been trained and it's an accepted factoid. Still sad when an innocent animal falls victim. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7ab2e3b146.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2c5dba2ac4.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...aa08349a9e.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I call those people clueless.:mad::mad: Most are also self-centered - they only care about one thing. Themselves. Talk is cheap but it's how people drive that define them. Ask me how I lost my Kinger......:(:(:( http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1490212991.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1490212991.jpg |
Karmann tried to jump on my back, right as I was sitting up from putting on my socks. She missed.

The next-door-neighbor's cat stops by a couple of times a day for a snack. He's old and fat, but they never got him fixed, so he keeps getting his ass kicked, hence the collar.

This is Tomtom. He was very pleased I had a plumbing job to do in/under the bathroom. Most helpful.

I guess they know where the "cool" house is.

Need to vent: (need to say this here because I can't say it to my wife)
There are a bunch of feral cats at my wife's workplace (as I have previously posted), so she has trapping/spay/neutering (good thing). Of course girl kitties need a couple days of rehab... wife didn't know what to do so I reached out to a 'cat lady' we know and sure enough she has a cage (4' tall by about 2' x 3') cool! We already have three indoor cats (I drew the line at two cats but stuff happens) I reluctantly agreed to 'foster' this kitty. We went from the cage to letting her free roam in the extra bedroom. We have a Catio (I fenced in a section of our patio) but I told my wife "I don't think the catio can hold a kitten" (big gaps in the fencing). Anyway, last night we both have stuff to do... and my wife decides to leave the bedroom open... and now feral cat has disappeared... And I am like WTF were you thinking? You turned a feral cat lose in the house!?! (but I didn't say anything) My wife cried herself to sleep last night (she is beyond upset, saying she "though her to the wolfs")... so I didn't sleep well either... On positive note, Biscuit (we named her biscuit) got neutered, shots, and was a little bit accustomed to interacting with human beings. ( and this is a nicer neighborhood that were my wife works) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1490454541.jpg |
After a few weeks of rehab:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1490455000.jpg I'm pretty torn up about this, yeah I know human beings are out there that need help, but even being feral she would play with us and purr... I will miss her. :( |

SMD-
Sorry to hear about Biscuit(cute name BTW) getting out. Funny how they can latch onto your heart in such a short time. Yeah people may need assistance but they can change that and many don't because they are freaking lazy and expect handouts, it's a lifestyle. Animals are a different deal altogether and you guys did a good thing. You may be surprised and she may remain close to your place, the feral ones can be wicked smart. Besides, it sounds like you have made an impact on her already, purring and playing is huge. We wish you the best in this situation. Onyx, now and indoor lump was the same way. When she was a kitten, we trapped her and her family. Had them all fixed, recovered and released back onto the property. Onyx was slow to leave the cage and wasn't as conditioned as Biscuit but she hung around. It's weird but they know a good thing. Smart call on "doing the right thing" with the Mrs'.... been there and done that too. Had a similar "rescue" with a bird(scrub jay I believe). Fell from a nest at the parents ranch and as careful as I could be with gloved hands and tried to re-nest, parents never came back. Hand raised this little lump of skin, took it to work and everywhere to feed every hour, would recognize me when I walked into the room, etc. Kinda funny to see me carrying around a chirping box, my only successful bird rescue too. I enjoyed walking around the room with it on my hand fast enough to get it to open its wings as if getting ready to fly. The wife, who doesn't do well with birds anyway, wanted to see it when it was a bit older. She cracks the door to look, then freaks when it flys towards her. She slams the door right on the little guy, DRT! Talk about remorse. As furious as I was, all I could do was comfort her. The things we do, right? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...454db47203.jpg Hope she shows back up Our "ex"-feral princess of the downstairs. At least she thinks she is. More the couch potato princess. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...aa0cb8bb03.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...876bbdab0d.jpg |

There are so many places and systems to help humans already; they don't need anymore help. My money and energy goes into helping the cats too. And a few dogs. |

Got some work done in the garage and storage area in side yard today and of course my two kiddles hung out to supervise.
Here's Banjo.....he's living the dream..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1491166685.JPG He's got the mandatory outdoor territorial cat small notch atop his right ear. Of course they are both neutered. :) |

Alright!!!!Great news!!!! She knew what a good thing she had at your place. Congrats!!! I don't know how people can do that with pets. We plucked up two that were abandon down the road for the same reason. They are living large at my parents ranch, AKA The Doolittle Farm. Horses, goats, sheep, mini donkeys, llama, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats and a wayward lop eared bunny. Not including all of the other critters found in the area. Squeak is lookin purdy cool too.[emoji6] Just a Kitty lookin for some family luvin. Overall, it sounds like a good news day for the Forum!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I blasted and painted the front brake backing plates on my 356; I set them out in the sun last weekend to 'bake' and one of the outside cats barfed on one of them.

i've decided i dont like cats. i love my cat, but only by default. they are gross. i cant handle the litter box. there is NO..none, it doenst exist. there is no good place to put a cat box IN a house. i am not training mine to go in my toilet. no thanks. finding floaters is not acceptable..and i miss occasionally going #1..i know my cat sucks at precision. she coats the side of her box. she wont hit centermass on the toilet. and i am not convinced cats love us. she just want pets and food. both are benefits for her. i think if i stop with both, she would leave. oh..she want warmth. when she sits in my life, it is cold outside. that is not a coincidence. and wtf is with the exit strategy from a litter box. how can a single cat drag out a teaspoon of litter exiting a cat box? somebody please tell me how long can i expect this thing to live? :) i'm grouchy..sorry. my wife and i have been playing a brutal game of "litter box chicken" we are letting it go until someone swerves to safety. i swerved this morning..i damn near dumped the entire thing and started fresh. it would have been easier. |
Litters are PITA and I clearly understand what you mean about the amount that escapes the box each time it is used. We bought one of these through Amazon. Works well enough that we will buy a second one to extend the area our cats have to clean their paws before they hit hardwoods or carpet.

As an old time cat owner (or slave) let me say you need to clean the box twice a day... any less is not healthy for the cat (or you). For me cats are like women... can't live with them... can't live without them.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1491405936.jpg |

Two minutes into a store in Amador and Simon the guard cat finds us and becomes our new friend. I'd take him in a heartbeat, if he had needed a new home. Very cool cat, tried to crawl inside my jacket and was perfectly content being carried around.

In fact, he just hung out. Got heavy after 20 minutes at 15lbs. Just looking for some warmth and some pettin. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...21df67ff82.jpg Followed us around the warehouse jumping up on the furniture whenever we stopped. I'm thinking they know an animal lover when they see one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
