Wirless DriveWay / Pathway Monitors
 

It has come top that point, i want to know who is coming dwn the trail or in the driveways.
I HATE buying crap and doing the 20/20 learn curve .
Can you recommend driveway monitors that will pick up people walking past, and or vehicles?
I have two drives to monitor at once, one being about 500 feet away.

Habour Freight has some inexpensive wireless driveway sensors, might be worth checking out.

If I had anticipated I would want an alarm, I would have made a provision for hard wiring. I tried the HF sensor, & it worked out OK. I still use one for the small road below my house leading to my sheds & rear parking area. The sensor is painted camouflage and mounted on a tree limb pointing down to the road with the receiver mounted under the eave of my shed. This is mostly to scare anyone coming up the road. I ended up with a Chamberlain driveway alarm (do a search - around $60). I also painted the sensor camouflage and mounted it beside the entrance to the driveway. The receiver is mounted on the back of a side table next to a couch. I've had it for maybe five years & if it dies, it's not expensive to replace & serves the purpose if you just need something to notify you about movement on the driveway/path. One thing is you have to adjust the sensor (of anything like this) according to it's area of detection if you don't want constant false alarms. Also, I get alarms when squirrels, turkeys, birds, etc. move across the front of it. Over all I'm happy with it.

I HIGHLY recommend Mighty Mule. Bought one for my mom's place - she is somewhat isolated on 6 acres with a long gravel drive. Then bought one for us. It works by detecting large magnetic field disturbances - just place the coil assembly parallel to the driveway near the edge (a few inches buried). My wheelbarrow will actually set this thing off. Can be purchased at big box stores or on-line.
I've replaced the transmitter batteries once in three years.

We had the motion sensor type detector first. Got TONS of false alarms - deer, wind, tree branches, sunlight, ghosts? - you name it.

Just saw the arlo 2 camera setup in costco yesterday for $269.
No mention of extra cameras on the product list the sales kid was clueless.

That is a good price.
I paid about 400 Euro for the 3 camera setup.
You can order the cameras separately later on (Amazon).

I've had the HF one for a few years. I got what I paid for :(
I'll take a look at the other suggestions.
