If you're using Windows Live 2012 for e-mail
My personal e-mail is a Windows "live" account. I've had it for year, it being the successor to "Hotmail". To keep my personal e-mail accounts separate from my work accounts, I use Windows Live Mail 2012 for personal and regular Outlook 365 for work.
Appearently, Microsoft is updating the e-mail service and Windows Live 2012 e-mail program no longers works with the new "Outlook.com" e-mail. If you get error 3219, you are having this problem. There is a solution: IMAP You can use IMAP services in Windows Live Mail and in Outlook.com Windows Live Mail and Outlook Mail - Microsoft Community Add a "new" account using the same e-mail address and password, but select to manually setup the servers. For the incoming server, select IMAP from the dropdown. For the incoming server address, enter imap-mail.outlook.com and change the port number to 993 and Select Requires a secure connection (SSL). For Authenticate using, select Clear text from the dropdown. For Log-on username, enter the full email address. For the outgoing mail server address, enter smtp.live.com and change the port to 587, and Select Requires a secure connection (SSL) and Requires authentication. |
