The Hermine thread- report in

I'm in Jacksonville and it stated raining and blowing about 4:00 this morning. The gusts knock the pine cones off the trees and onto my roof which sound like rocks. Bans of rain coming thru. Other than that its not been too bad. Schools of course are cancelled.

They are predicting it will run up the east coast. It looks like a wet weekend up north.

Anyone else?

My brother is volunteering at a state park near Santa Rosa Bch in the panhandle.
Yesterday was a bit tense, at one point the desided to evacuate the park.
A couple of hours later after an update they reconsidered.
He was all packed and hooked up ready to leave when the plan changed

All of the park's from the big bend south to Tampa were closed. Leaving a lot of folks towing out of the coastal areas.

Sure glad it's landfall caused it to weaken a bit. And was in a lightly populated area.

Hang in there east coasters.

Cheers Richard.

Schools and anything associated with the government is cancelled. The rest of us are at work today.

Working on 1" of rain so far. Winds are still nothing remarkable.

After action report from the panhandle. At least west of Panama City.
Really a nonevent. A half hour of rain, a little breeze, done.

Not even any extra clean up to be done, thank goodness!

Cheers Richard

This is what the St. Johns river looked like as I-95 crosses over it at about 7:15 this morning.

At work near Ward, SC. It's pouring, and it's Friday, so naturally we are all going to work max overtime today. :)

Non-event here in Melbourne. Had a 35-40 mph wind gust and some rain when a band passed a couple hrs ago. Nothing last night or at least it didn't wake us up.

Rain and wind up on Amelia Island, some branches down and we were without power for a little while. Crossing the Dames Point bridge was a little windy this morning.

I have friends in Nokomis. They said no problems.

In Tampa here. We had a couple of pretty good squalls last night as some of the feeder bands passed over us but didn't really see above 40 knot winds. Storms surge is a *****, though. My uncle's river cabin about an hour north had 2.5 feet of water in it last night, which is really a bummer but can be cleaned up and fixed. My shed flooded for the second time this season, which is more a nuisance than anything... move everything to the garage and leave the shed open for a week to dry and air out. We are all safe, which is most important.

looks like it is breaking up. pretty cool to see the counter clock rotation being undone by another pressure system, I think that is whats happening..
