Contents of 911SC tool bag
Hi guys,
I had this in my '83 SC tool bag. A pack of single use gloves. I'm just wondering if it was a standard piece? Anyone? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Had the same gloves in my 86 944 turbo kit, so probably standard issue.

Lucky bastard, my toolkit contains no such gloves....and it's very complete and pristine!

My 93 968 has those as well as white cloth "valet" gloves, a bag for a flat tire, hot sleeves and a set of rubber gloves. All original equipment.

It's a large, thin plastic bag.

This thread would almost fit in the 911 tech forum.
![]() But yeah, Porsche thought of everything in those days. The big plastic bag so your flat tire would not soil the contents of your trunk or the interior of your car. If it was a 928 or 944, the luggage compartment was really inside the car. Last edited by speeder; 09-01-2016 at 08:01 AM.. |

Does anyone know if a new 991 come with any sort of tool kit (other than a tow hook)?
It's almost as if Porsche spoiled us with such a nice collection of tools and tool roll. These days everyone has become conditioned to use their cell phone and AAA card (although I don't think I've had a AAA card in 30 years).

They quit putting a decent tool kit into a new car years ago.

LOL. You don't get a dip stick to check the oil. Why would you need a tool kit? Just call the dealer and hand over the Amex card.

^^ Hey, ya never know. My 2013 BMW has a small vestige of a tool kit - a tow hook and a screw driver in a vinyl pouch. No dipstick either...

^^^ And BMW used to put those beautiful tool kits in the trunk lids.

Or for peeling potatoes, mixing chemicals, painting the house, waxing the car, and potting plants... look at the diagrams again.

![]() This is one of my eBay scores, from an 911SC era car. First plastic bag I have ever cleaned, even though it was in exceptional condition. ![]()
